So I don't get to play much right now for many unfortunate reasons, but I came up with a build that I've played a little, but haven't had a real chance to test it. Basically, it's just Soul Reaping at 16, and Fire at 12. I only use Fire/ele skills, and suck down the energy as it comes in from the killing and dying. It allows me to cast big damage spells again and again, and while a normal ele would be out of energy by the end of combat, my char is still running hot. The skill build is:
Flare (for high-efficiency damage)
Lava Font (for ripping groups)
Searing Heat (more group ripping)
Phoenix (great for casting at adjacent enemies; both blasts hit adjacent foes)
Meteor Shower (distance slaying)
Aura of Restoration
Glyph of Lesser Energy (in case no-one is dying)
Rez Signet
So, to me, it seems like a really smart build. The one time I got into a group the leader got pissed at me for using it. I was hoping for some better feedback, i.e. constructive. Also, spell suggestions that go with this build would be very much welcome.
Thanks!

As Alex said there is alot of PBAoE. As a squishy you prolly don't want to get that close to the enemy.
I would switch some of them out for more distance type spells-Rodgort's I hear is pretty sexy
Interesting idea though-I heard several people talking about this but have yet to see a build.

wow umm wow that gets saved as funny. but nice attempt though if you really wanna even use it i guess you could do this instead
fire attune
fireball
liquid flame
mark of rodgort
flare<_<>_>
sig of lost souls
rez
or you could just make an ele and do the same only much better

Wow, folks don't need to be rude to get a point across... compared to Deathly Swarm and a lot of other spells, Flare seems pretty worthwhile - it's only 5 and does respectable damage. How about *constructive* criticism? What's a better idea?
Thanks to those who really responded to the post's idea.

Aura of Restoration, even on an Elementalist is /fail.
Same for Flare, Pheonix and Lava Font.
Go play an Elementalist, or even a Mesmer for muuuuuuuuuuch better results.

You say certain skills are bad, what are better ones?
You say I should drop my idea and do an Ele or Me instead, on what basis?

I messed around with my necro using Searing Flames one day when just doing regular boring quests, Soul Reaping let me spam it like no tomorrow. I didn't even bring Glowing Gaze. If you're really intent on using Fire, you might like using that elite skill along with Signet of Lost Souls, both in Nightfall. Maybe Glyph of Elemental Power/Intensity/Elemental Lord to help you get beyond the 12 attribute cap you have, that's a hindrance to other classes who try to be nukers. Primary eles outclass their damage.
I assume you are fairly early in your game, but necro Curses are awesome later on. Definately check those out!

People need to let go of the idea that elementalist spells are the way to go for damage in the later stages of the game. That said I'm assuming you're pretty early on.
To be perfectly honest, your build will work. You'll eat up all your energy spamming Flare, I guess, but it'll work. You really need to drop Aura of Restoration, it's totally useless. Bring Signet of Lost Souls instead (as above noted.)

Thanks Velise & Moloch
Well, I was N/Mo, and then got tired of my char build and couldn't figured out a new way to be that I liked. Then I remembered the first char I built that I liked was an ele nuker, but saw the potential w/ Soul Reaping. I haven't yet beaten Prophecies, and have only done a little bit in Eye of the North; I don't own the other games yet.
I've got other problems, too, like a broken home computer and a job at a tax office that's killing my free time right now... anyway, I'll look to pick up some better fire skills, and Signet of Lost Souls when I get back into the game.
Thanks again, and to those above posters who were helpful

I've been using this build in PvE (NM) and it's been fun:
Necro/Elementalist
SR 12+2, Fire 12, Water 3
[skill]Searing Flames[/skill] [skill]Fire Storm[/skill] [skill]Deep Freeze[/skill] [skill]Breath of Fire[/skill] [skill]Signet of Sorrow[/skill] [skill]Glyph of Elemental Power[/skill] [skill]Signet of Lost Souls[/skill] [skill]Hexer's Vigor[/skill]
Sure you don't hit as hard as an Elementalist main, but you can spam Searing Flames all day (and you still get up to 14 Fire with your Glyph activated).
Once some corpses are formed you can spam Signet of Sorrow on one guy for 71 damage a second (not mitigated by armor) mana free. Not sure why more people don't use this, maybe because it's too conditional.
For me it's about having fun and coming up with interesting builds.
This is my first post here, so I hope those skills show up properly...

there... fixed it for you
so what do you have here: 2 skills that are actually good for what you're trying to achieve here and Res Sig(cant really go wrong with that)
Necro nuker isnt that great but meh... here are 3 major F A I L S beside the skills:
1. No Elite
2. Soul Reaping=your energy battery, GoLE...?
3. Superior Soul Reaping rune
by the way Ele nukers dont run out of energy if they have a good build, that's why Dual Attunements, Mind Blast, Assassin's Promise, etc are available... Searing Flames and Savannah Heat nukers use other things like GoLE, Glowing Gaze, etc
however if you still want to do a Necro Nuker here are some basic skills to look at:
Rodgort's Invocation(nuker 101)
Fire Attunement(nuker 101)
Searing Heat(which you have)
Teinai's Heat(no reason not to have both)
Liquid Flame/Fireball
Glyph of Sacrifice(so MS wont take ages and will probably miss its target)
pick an elite, Wail of Doom seems nice.
still Ele nuker is so much better, but with those skills in mind you're going to get yourself on the right tracks...

If you are going to use those elites, run with Icy Veins. As long as you're going to churn out armor-dependant trash, why not aggravate the problem with a weak cold damage hex?

Pointless as eles can manage there energy better with their skills and high energy while also being able to do much more dmg and take a secondary such as mes for echo or monk for res. Necros can do enough dmg with their own skills.
